Three weeks & three skins! Following the release of both Villain and Shift from the past two weeks, I'm happy to announce another new design called Ortem (small bonus point for those who see the reason for that name!). I don't currently have any other new skins planned or designed, so if you've been holding off while these skins were being released, now's the time to decide and purchase! 

Ortem is a Metro (Windows 8) inspired design and is focused around a simple to use color picker, allowing your members to easily customize the colors of the layout by selecting from a preset array. The header area is large enough to accommodate for big logos and full width banners (background images), which is something that was requested a couple of weeks ago!

In addition to Villain which was released last Tuesday, I'm happy to announce the release of another new skin called Shift. This skin features a simple colour scheme changer (very similar in function to Subway), allowing your members to choose their own colour combination from a preset array. Perfect for any community, very easy to set custom default colours and even easier to add/replace the existing colours with your own!

Important skin updates

For those who missed the other announcement, there has also been an important update released for Snapshot, Subway and Villain which fixes an IE8 bug that prevented customized backgrounds from loading. It's a fairly important update, so I would suggest all customers upgrade their skin to the latest version.

After a surprising realization the other week than Animate was my last dark premade skin (released almost 2 years ago to the day), I decided to create a minimalistic dark skin which would be useful for any themed site (not just gaming).

Today, that skin has been released and is called Villain: a dark, semi-transparent dark skin which includes a simple background picker allowing your members to choose their own image from a preset array of large background images (which resize in modern browsers depending on your users screen). The background picker can be disabled if it's not needed, and the skin includes all of the other optional extras such as custom forum icons, social icons, description tooltips and horiztonal post layouts.

The skin is lightly based off the Aero theme used in Windows 7 and features a very unique 'blur' effect. It includes a simple background picker allowing your members to choose their own image from a preset array of high quality background images (2560x1200 pixels by default), which you can replace with your own if needed.

The skin upgrade should fix any incompatibilities with 3.4.3 (including an editor bug which I've seen posted a few times). The upgrade is available for free for existing customers in the client area.

The 3.4.3 skins also include a "cover photo" feature, which replaces the custom background feature when viewing profiles. The cover photo is neater and more compatible with some of the heavily modified skins (those with background choosers, etc). An example screenshot is attached below.
