Is it better to wait for the next IP.Board before changing my skin?

Hi all, I'm in the process of formulating plans to give our site a revamp and I have a few modifications I'd like to add at the same time as applying a new skin (probably custom from ipbforumskins as it's quite obviously the most reliable and design worthy), but my question is simply this - is it better to wait until Invision have released the next upgrade as there will be quite a few changes to the board by the looks of their blog updates?. I'll probably be ready to kick things off with the modifications and will be looking for a new skin in the next month or so, by which time the new upgrade may be released but I just wanted a little feedback on whether we should wait or not if the upgrade takes a lot longer than expected :)

Thanks in advance
Marko

Any skins made for 3.1 will not work on 3.2, so if you're planning on upgrading, I would suggest waiting (unless you don't mind paying for a skin now AND paying the upgrade fee for 3.2).

Invision haven't given a time frame for their new release, but it would be nice if it came within the next month or two. If you want it as soon as possible, you could always have it designed now, and have it coded for 3.2 when it's released..

Hi Ehren, thanks for the reply, I still do have a few bits and pieces that I need to figure out myself in regards to modifications, etc, that's why I probably won't be ready to do anything for another month or so, but once I have a firm grip on how exactly the mods will work I hope we'll be nearer the upgrade from Invision and I'll have a better idea of how the mods will integrate with the new version and hopefully have a better understanding of the design requirements for a new skin - I'll def be in touch at that point and hopefully we can kick something off :)
Cheers

How much will an "upgrade" cost for 3.2 version?

Premades are free (with the option of donating). Not sure about custom skins yet. TBA :)
