I will be migrating our board from 2.3.6 this week and am in need of a new skin. Currently the skin used has a number of banners in place using openx but I understand the 3.2 version of ipb has it's own baner engine and I can get away from openx.
My question is
Is there a particluar skin that is more accepting to multiple banners? Currently right now we have a skyscraper on the right, large banner on the top, one on the bottom and then one between first and 2nd thread of a post

Hello,
The default skin has banner locations for the "most requested" spaces in IPB. These include horizontal banners above and below the forum (which can be customized depending on if the user is viewing the board index, topic page, etc), banners after the first post, etc. They can also be repositioned by modifying your template.
A skyscraper on the right is a bit tricky with 3.2.x since there's already a right hand column on the board index. It is possible though.
